About the school

The single-cycle Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) at the University of Bari Aldo Moro is a five-year health-sciences programme with nationally regulated enrolment, training veterinary professionals to the European standard with a multidisciplinary curriculum.

The programme is EAEVE-accredited: in the most recent ESEVT status (November 2025) Bari holds full membership with accreditation valid until October 2030, facilitating recognition of the degree across Europe.

The curriculum covers 300 ECTS credits over five years, spanning lectures, practical sessions (labs, clinics, surgery), fieldwork (farms and breeding facilities), internships and seminars, with compulsory attendance.

Campus: The Veterinary Medicine faculty is located at the modern Valenzano campus (Strada Provinciale per Casamassima km 3), a few kilometres from Bari city. The campus includes a teaching veterinary hospital with consulting rooms, operating theatres, inpatient wards and stables, enabling clinical training on small animals, large animals and production species.

Bari, the capital of Puglia and an Adriatic port city, offers good transport links and a cost of living lower than central or northern Italy.

Verified at uniba.it, Universitaly / MUR D.M. 600/2025, and the EAEVE ESEVT status table (Nov 2025), June 2026. Fees are ISEE-based and subject to annual revision.

FAQ

Is there still an entrance exam for Veterinary Medicine at Bari?
No. Since 2025/26, the old TOLC-V entrance test has been abolished. Entry is now via the national filter semester and a merit ranking based on Biology, Chemistry & biochemistry propedeutics, and Physics exams (D.Lgs. 71/2025, D.M. 418/2025 and D.M. 600/2025).
Is the degree recognised across Europe?
The programme holds EAEVE accreditation (full membership, valid until October 2030), which facilitates recognition of the degree in European countries. To practise in a specific country, always verify the requirements with the local regulatory body.
How much does it cost to study at Bari?
Fees are ISEE-based: students with a low ISEE fall in the no-tax area and pay only the regional study tax and €16 stamp (≈ €140–160/yr). Above the threshold, contributions rise progressively. UniBa's exact brackets and maximum fees should be verified at uniba.it.
Where is the faculty located?
The Veterinary Medicine campus is in Valenzano (Strada Provinciale per Casamassima km 3), a few kilometres south of Bari, with an attached teaching veterinary hospital.
How does the national ranking work?
After passing all three filter-semester exams (minimum 18/30 each), students are placed in a single national ranking on Universitaly/CINECA, scored by exam grades. Candidates are admitted to their chosen university if they fall within the available places (60 EU + 5 non-EU at Bari in 2025/26).
