FAQ

Is there still an entrance test (TOLC-VET) for Veterinary Medicine in Milan?
No. From 2025/26 the TOLC-VET has been abolished: admission is through the open semester (free enrolment) and a national merit ranking based on the scores of the three exams (Chemistry, Physics, Biology). There is no more pre-university entrance test.
Where is the UniMi Veterinary Medicine programme taught?
The programme is delivered on the Lodi campus (approximately 30 minutes from Milan by train), which houses the DIVAS department, the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVU) and the didactic livestock farm (CZDS). Formal enrolment is with the Università degli Studi di Milano.
Is the UniMi Veterinary degree recognised in Europe?
Yes. The programme holds EAEVE Full Accreditation (ESEVT visit March 2019), which ensures automatic recognition of the degree across the EU under Directive 2005/36/EC.
How much does it cost to study Veterinary Medicine at La Statale?
Fees are ISEE-based: students with ISEE ≤ €30,000 fall within the no-tax area and pay only the regional right-to-study tax and stamp duty (≈ €156/year). Above that threshold, the contribution increases progressively up to a maximum TO VERIFY at unimi.it.
How does the national merit ranking work?
After passing all three filter-semester exams (each with at least 18/30), the MUR calculates an aggregate score and publishes a single national merit ranking. Students list their preferred seats (e.g. Lodi/UniMi); those ranked high enough for their top preference proceed to enrol in semester 2.
