About the school

The single-cycle master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) at the Università degli Studi di Milano is delivered by the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (DIVAS) on the Lodi campus. La Statale is Italy's largest public research university.

The programme holds EAEVE Full Accreditation (ESEVT evaluation visit March 2019), the highest European quality recognition for veterinary education, guaranteeing EU-wide recognition of the degree under Directive 2005/36.

Strengths: clinical training covering small animals, large animals, horses, exotic species and wildlife; strong practical component meeting EAEVE standards.

The programme is delivered on the Lodi campus, approximately 30 minutes from Milan. The campus is home to the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVU) and the Centro Zootecnico Didattico Sperimentale (CZDS), the university's didactic experimental livestock farm.

  • Upper secondary school leaving certificate (or equivalent).
  • Free enrolment in the open semester: no entrance test.
  • Compulsory attendance and passing of Chemistry & biochemistry, Physics and Biology exams.

    The MUR publishes the single national merit ranking (Universitaly/CIN). Students ranked high enough at their chosen seat advance to semester 2.

  5. Enrol in semester 2

    Complete enrolment at the chosen seat (Lodi / UniMi) and begin the second semester of year 1.

Is there still an entrance test (TOLC-VET) for Veterinary Medicine in Milan?
No. From 2025/26 the TOLC-VET has been abolished: admission is through the open semester (free enrolment) and a national merit ranking based on the scores of the three exams (Chemistry, Physics, Biology). There is no more pre-university entrance test.
