About the school

The University of Extremadura has offered Veterinary Medicine since 1983 at its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Cáceres. The centre has been an EAEVE member since 2012 and its Veterinary Medicine degree is EAEVE-accredited, with the European accreditation renewed in December 2022.

The qualification is an official degree, verified by ANECA, and entitles graduates to practise as veterinarians throughout the EU (Directive 2005/36/EC). Teaching is delivered in Spanish.

Extremadura, home to Spain's largest area of dehesa (cork-oak and holm-oak savannah), provides an exceptional environment for training in extensive livestock production (Iberian pigs, Merino sheep, cattle) and herd health management.

    Formalise enrolment within the assigned deadlines. Apply for the MEFD general scholarship (becasyconcursos.mec.es) and Junta de Extremadura grants during the July–September window.
