About the school
The University of Extremadura has offered Veterinary Medicine since 1983 at its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Cáceres. The centre has been an EAEVE member since 2012 and its Veterinary Medicine degree is EAEVE-accredited, with the European accreditation renewed in December 2022.
The qualification is an official degree, verified by ANECA, and entitles graduates to practise as veterinarians throughout the EU (Directive 2005/36/EC). Teaching is delivered in Spanish.
Extremadura, home to Spain's largest area of dehesa (cork-oak and holm-oak savannah), provides an exceptional environment for training in extensive livestock production (Iberian pigs, Merino sheep, cattle) and herd health management.

The Faculty is located on the University Campus of Cáceres. It has a Veterinary Teaching Hospital, a teaching farm, and meat and dairy pilot plants for practical training.

- Bachillerato (science stream) + passed EBAU.
- Admission score = Bachillerato average (60 %) + EBAU general phase (40 %), plus elective-phase bonus (weighted ×0.2: Biology II, Chemistry — up to +4 points).
- Entry by admission score ranking (cut-off). No interview.
