The single-cycle master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) at the Università degli Studi di Padova — one of the oldest universities in the world (founded 1222) — is delivered by the School of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, with the Department of Animal Medicine, Production and Health (MAPS) as the lead department.

Teaching takes place at the Agripolis campus in Legnaro (PD), Viale dell'Università 16, shared with the Agricultural Sciences programmes. The campus is home to the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVUD), open since 2010 and EAEVE-approved, featuring a 24/7 emergency service for small animals and horses, intensive care, clinical laboratory and necropsy rooms. The facility is undergoing major expansion (works from 2026).

FAQ

Is there still an entrance test for Veterinary Medicine in Padua?
No. From 2025/26 the TOLC-VET has been abolished: admission is through the open semester (free enrolment) and a national merit ranking based on the scores of three exams (Chemistry, Physics, Biology). There is no pre-university entrance test.
Where is the Veterinary Medicine programme based?
The programme is taught at the Agripolis campus in Legnaro (PD), approximately 10 km from central Padua. It is not on the main Padua campus. The campus is reachable by regular buses and ESU shuttles from Padua. Formal enrolment is with the University of Padua.
