About the school
The single-cycle master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (LM-42) at the Università degli Studi di Parma is delivered by the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences (SMV). The programme has national numerus clausus and compulsory attendance.
On 30 May 2024 the programme received EAEVE accreditation, valid until 2030 — a quality mark guaranteeing EU-wide recognition of the degree under Directive 2005/36/CE.
The department has undergone major renewal in recent years and positions itself as a leading hub for teaching, research and veterinary care, with a strong commitment to sustainability and the One Health approach.

The Department and the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVUD) are at Strada del Taglio 10, 43126 Parma. The hospital offers consultations Monday to Friday and a 24/7 emergency service.
