Campus & Facilities

CEU UCH Veterinary Faculty is on the Moncada-Alfara Campus, 10 km north of Valencia (direct bus from city centre). Facilities include:

  • CEU Clinical Veterinary Hospital — 24/7 hospital with ICU, specialist surgery, advanced imaging, and 18 specialist services
  • Teaching farm in Sagunto (cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry) — the most complete at any Spanish private university
  • Equine centre in Segorbe (equine clinic and stud farm)
  • Full campus with residences, cafeteria, pool, and sports facilities

Valencia is 10 km away — beaches, Mediterranean food, and an active cultural scene. CEU UCH is the only private Spanish university with full EAEVE accreditation.

Academic requirements

CEU UCH does not require a minimum cut-off grade. Admission is based on:

  • Personal interview (primary selection criterion)
  • Upper-secondary school record (Bachillerato)
  • Motivation, attitude, and aptitude for veterinary medicine
  • 300 places per year — the largest vet school intake in Spain

The process is more accessible than EBAU grades, but a place is not guaranteed — the interview is decisive.

Work experience

Not mandatory, but CEU UCH places significant weight on prior animal experience in the admission interview. Small animal clinic observation, farm placements, animal shelter volunteering, and zoo experience all strengthen your interview position.

  • International students: recognised equivalent of Spanish university entrance

Interview & exam format

The CEU UCH admission interview is the primary selection factor. Held before a panel of 2–3 faculty members for approximately 20–30 minutes. Assessed areas:

  • Motivation and vocation — why vet, why CEU
  • Knowledge of the veterinary profession — trends, challenges (AMR, animal welfare, One Health)
  • Work experience reflection — what you observed and learned
  • Communication and maturity — clarity, active listening, professionalism
  • English level (for the bilingual track — assessed separately)

CEU offers Spanish and bilingual (EN) tracks. The bilingual track is particularly valued by international employers and for European career mobility.

FAQ

Is the EAEVE accreditation recognised across Europe?
Yes. Full EAEVE accreditation means your veterinary degree from CEU UCH is automatically recognised in all EU/EEA member states, the UK, and many other countries worldwide. You can practise as a vet anywhere in Europe without additional examinations.
What happens at the admission interview?
The 25-minute interview is with a panel of 2–3 faculty members. It assesses your motivation, values, communication skills and vocation for veterinary medicine. There are no scientific knowledge tests. Prepare to talk about why you want to be a vet, your experience with animals, and any ethical dilemmas you have thought about.
Can I apply before my EVAU results?
Yes — and you should. CEU UCH accepts applications year-round with rolling admissions. You can interview and receive a conditional offer before sitting your EVAU. Early applicants have priority access to merit scholarships which have limited places.
Do I need to speak Spanish to study here?
It depends on your track. The Spanish-track and bilingual tracks are taught partly or fully in Spanish. However, the English/Spanish bilingual track means roughly half your subjects are taught in English. Most administrative staff also speak English. Strong Spanish is recommended for clinical rotations.
How competitive is admission compared to public Spanish universities?
Much less competitive on grades. Public Spanish veterinary schools require a nota de corte of 11–13/14 via EBAU. CEU UCH has no grade cut-off — admission is purely by interview. If you have the motivation and communication skills, your school grades are less decisive.
