Participatory Count SHOC 2026-2027
SHOC is a participatory monitoring programme coordinated by LPO and MNHN to census common bird populations wintering in France. Volunteers conduct two survey rounds (December 2026 and January 2027) on observation squares to document the evolution of resident and migratory species. This survey, running since 2014, complements breeding data from STOC and helps understand how winter conditions influence bird survival and reproduction.
