Swallows and Swifts Inventory in Haute-Garonne 2027
LPO Occitanie mobilises volunteers to inventory Swallow nests and Swift colonies across Haute-Garonne, addressing the dramatic decline of these protected species. Energy-efficient building renovations destroy their natural habitats, causing a 46% decline in Black Swifts and 23% in Window Swallows since 1989. Volunteers will survey their assigned geographic sector between May and August to precisely census these populations, contributing to essential awareness and protection initiatives.
